Temple Dress Code
Sri Venkateswara Temple follows a traditional dress code to maintain the sanctity of the sacred space. Please plan your attire accordingly.
đDress Code for Men
Allowed
- âDhoti / Pancha â Traditional white or colored dhoti is the most preferred attire
- âShirt / Kurta â Full or half-sleeve shirts, kurtas, and traditional upper garments
- âFormal trousers / Pyjama â Acceptable as lower garment with a proper shirt
- âMundu / Lungi â Traditional wrapped lower garments are welcome
Not Allowed
- âShorts / Bermudas â Not permitted inside the temple premises
- âTorn or ripped jeans â Casual torn clothing is not accepted
- âSleeveless vests / Tank tops â Upper body must be properly covered
- âLeather belts / items â Leather is prohibited inside the temple
đDress Code for Women
Allowed
- âSaree â Traditional saree is the most preferred attire for women
- âSalwar Kameez / Churidar â Full-length salwar suits with dupatta
- âHalf saree / Langa Voni â Traditional South Indian attire for younger women
- âKurti with leggings â Full-length kurti that covers the knees with leggings
Not Allowed
- âJeans / Trousers â Western-style pants are generally not allowed
- âSkirts / Short dresses â Short or revealing clothing is not permitted
- âSleeveless tops â Shoulders must be covered at all times
- âLeather items â Leather bags, belts, or footwear are prohibited
đļChildren
Young children are generally exempt from strict dress code requirements. However, it is recommended to dress them in traditional or modest clothing appropriate for a temple visit.
Infants and toddlers can be carried inside the temple. Baby strollers may need to be left at the entrance.
đĒStorage Facilities
TTD operates free cloakrooms at the Vaikuntam Queue Complex and near the temple entrance. You can deposit luggage, footwear, leather items, and electronic devices.
Free footwear deposit counters are available at multiple locations near the temple entrance. Tokens are issued for retrieval.
If you arrive without proper attire, TTD provides free traditional clothing (dhotis for men, sarees/dupattas for women) on a returnable basis at counters near the entrance.
Mobile phones are allowed inside the temple but cameras are not. Small lockers are available for depositing cameras and other electronic devices.

- âĸCarry a traditional dress in your bag even if you are wearing western attire â you can change at the cloakroom area.
- âĸAvoid wearing black clothing â while not strictly prohibited, traditional customs prefer lighter and brighter colors for temple visits.
- âĸFootwear must be removed before entering the temple. Wear slip-on footwear for convenience, especially in the queue.
- âĸShops near the temple sell affordable dhotis, sarees, and traditional clothing if you need to purchase on the spot.
